Whonix is a free, security-focused operating system that forces everything you do through the Tor network and isolates your activity so thoroughly that even malware can't easily discover your real IP address. How Whonix Works: Two Machines, Not One
Whonix's whole design rests on splitting your system into two virtual machines:

2. Run it inside a hypervisor (VirtualBox or KVM). For maximum security, run Whonix inside Qubes OS.

4. Remember Whonix hides your IP — it does not hide what you personally reveal. Good OpSec still applies, and you should still verify onion links with PGP.
